Towns recently announced a deal with Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader for a $3 million, 2,500-seat arena in Tamboril, Santiago.

Towns is deeply involved in the construction of this arena and spoke about what it means to him.

Towns is helping to fund the creation of this stadium, which he hopes will greatly assist the young people in the Dominican Republic.

Tamboril is the city that his father is from, which makes this project even more personal for Towns.

As great as this arena will be, Towns won’t be around to see it built because he has a very busy season ahead with the Knicks.

During his first year with New York, he averaged 24.4 points and 12.8 rebounds on 52.6 percent from the field and 42.0 percent from the three-point line.

That was a strong start in the Big Apple for Towns, but he is hoping to do so much more in 2025-26.

The Knicks have high aspirations and want to become the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Towns will be a central part of their plans.
