Derrick Henry Drops a Bombshell About His Age That Has Everyone Talking

So here’s a question that’s been bouncing around my mind: can a running back at 31 still bulldoze defenses like a wrecking ball in a china shop? Derrick Henry just might be the perfect case study. Even after putting in a ton of mileage in the league, this powerhouse from the Baltimore Ravens isn’t just hanging on—he’s thriving, shutting down any chatter about age catching up to him. The Ravens betting big on him with another hefty contract isn’t just a gamble; it’s a bold statement that Henry’s engine is still humming strong. And honestly, watching him pound that turf with such relentless force makes you wonder—how many 31-year-olds could keep up with this behemoth’s blend of grit, grind, and pure determination? Yeah, Henry’s not your typical running back; he’s rewriting the playbook on longevity in a brutal sport where time usually sneaks up fast.

The Baltimore Ravens have one of the most physical forces in the league coming out of their backfield.

Derrick Henry is a human force of nature, and he’s way bigger than the average running back.

However, all good things eventually come to an end, and he might be inching closer to his football mortality.

Nevertheless, the 31-year-old isn’t too worried about that, and he recently shut down all concerns about his age:

“I mean, it’s football,” Henry said. “I don’t really worry about the age. As long as I put the work in, it’ll speak for myself. I trust myself. I know myself. I know my body and I know how I prepare. So that’s all I try to worry about.”

Henry isn’t like the average running back.

He has a lot of mileage under his belt, but just like he proved last season, he can run with the best of them.

The former Tennessee Titans standout just got another lucrative contract extension after just one year with the Ravens.

That speaks volumes about their level of confidence in him, his game, and how his body will hold up.

The Ravens will continue to deploy a run-heavy offense for as long as he and Todd Monken are there.

Having him there allows them to keep Lamar Jackson out of harm’s way and safe and sound for when it matters most.

Henry will be instrumental in the team’s postseason chances for as long as he’s healthy.

And while giving a 31-year-old running back that type of money was a major risk by this organization, Henry has proven that he’s simply not built like most people, and he might be in better shape than 99.9% of all 31-year-olds all around the face of the Earth.
