Could This 4-Time Pro Bowl Defender Be the Missing Piece for the Dolphins’ Championship Quest?
So, here we go again — the Miami Dolphins, never shy about stirring the pot, might be dialing up their pass rush by bringing in veteran Matthew Judon for a visit. Now, why would a team seemingly set with edge rushers suddenly eye a guy whose last season numbers dipped below his usual firepower? Well, isn’t that the million-dollar question? At 33, Judon’s been a beast in the past—a four-time Pro Bowler no less—but lately, he’s looked a bit like a shadow of his former disruptive self. Still, in a league where depth is king and surprises lurk in every snap, maybe the Dolphins are hunting for a spark or insurance in what could be head coach Mike McDaniel’s pivotal season. After all, can you ever have too much pass rush talent when playoffs hang in the balance? Let’s dive into what this potential move could really mean.

The Miami Dolphins could add another veteran to the mix.
Specifically, they might add firepower to their pass rush.
“The Dolphins are hosting free agent pass rusher Matthew Judon on a visit today, source said. Some potential edge help,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport wrote on X.

The 33-year-old is coming off playing 17 games for the Atlanta Falcons last season, including 15 starts.
He logged 5.5 sacks, nine quarterback hits, five passes defended and one interception.
However, it was one of his lowest sack totals in any healthy season since his rookie year of 2016.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection looked like a shell of himself after leaving the New England Patriots, failing to be the same disruptive force.
The Dolphins seemed set in their pass rush, which is why this news is a bit surprising.
Second-year pro Chop Robinson had a bit of an injury scare, but it wasn’t anything serious.
They also have Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips, with Derrick McLendon, Quinton Bell and Grayson Murphy in the mix.
Even so, a team can never have too much depth or talent, and while Judon is coming off a fairly disappointing season, he could be a solid pickup.
The Dolphins are facing a lot of scrutiny as they enter their fourth season under head coach Mike McDaniel.
With the talent the team has, this might be his final chance to lead them to a postseason victory before the front office makes a decision about his future.
