Tuesday Headlines: Collin Chandler's Surprising Journey to Stardom Unveiled

Good game from Chris Rodriguez last night.

What are your expectations of Chandler this season? What type of impact do you think he’ll have on the team?
Have you drafted your league yet?
That’s why he came back to UK.
Chandler’s athletic ability and work ethic are both through the roof, so it seems like more reps is the only ingredient he needs to continue to improve.
One was Jaxson Robinson, who was recognized in 2023-2024 as the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, and the other was Collin Chandler.
Chandler played in 30 games as a freshman and though it took him a while to find his groove, he became a fan favorite towards the end of the season.
When Mark Pope stepped into the Kentucky basketball head coach role, he didn’t come empty-handed. Bringing along some familiar faces from BYU, including the standout Jaxson Robinson—who snagged the 2023-2024 Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year—and a promising talent, Collin Chandler, he set in motion a fresh chapter for the Wildcats. Chandler’s journey is anything but ordinary: recruited in 2022, he devoted two years to a mission trip before ever lacing up for a college game—and that first college action? It all happened under Kentucky’s bright lights, not at BYU. Sure, the Cougars have their place, but the spotlight—and pressure—at Kentucky plays on a whole different stage. After a rookie season featuring 30 games, Chandler’s hustle, sharp shooting, and energy captured the hearts of Big Blue Nation, signaling something special brewing. His combination of raw athleticism and relentless work ethic means the sky’s the limit once he gets more playing time. So, what do you expect from Chandler this upcoming season? Could he be the catalyst Kentucky needs to chase yet another title run? Dive deeper into his story and plans with the Wildcats right here. LEARN MORE

Nothing against BYU or the Cougars program, but the stage at Kentucky is a bit different than most places in college basketball.
