Troy Aikman Drops Unexpected Revelation About Jerry Jones That Everyone’s Talking About

So here we are—once again peering into the messy cauldron bubbling over in Dallas. Jerry Jones just pulled a move that’s got the NFL world talking—and not in a good way—shipping off Micah Parsons, one of the rare pass rushers who actually terrifies quarterbacks, to the Packers. Now, if you thought that was bold, wait until you hear what Troy Aikman, yeah, the Cowboys legend himself, recently said about ol’ Jerry. It’s not every day a guy who hoisted three Super Bowl trophies under the silver and blue throws shade that cuts this deep. Makes you wonder—has the Cowboys’ owner lost sight of winning, or is this some grand chess move we’re just too close to see yet? Either way, the fallout’s just begun, and trust me, it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shook up the NFL last week by bringing the long-winding feud between him and Micah Parsons to a shocking end by sending him to the Green Bay Packers for a pair of second-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

The pushback against Jerry Jones for the move has come from all angles, including former legendary quarterback Troy Aikman, who recently gave a telling statement about the Cowboys owner.

Colin Cowherd said on Thursday’s episode of The Herd that even Troy Aikman knows Jerry Jones doesn’t care about winning, and he played a clip of Aikman’s recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, where he said, “The Cowboys as a discussion point is meaningful to him, and has given the impression that that supersedes winning.”

Cowherd added that Jones is selfish for operating this way, and it’s tough to argue against it at the moment, after months of him treating the Micah Parsons contract dispute and trade request as a charade and an opportunity to get more camera time.

Dealing one of the game’s truly elite pass rushers for draft picks is not an indication that the organization is currently prioritizing winning, and there’s no way to spin it in their favor.

For Aikman, of all people, to say this is telling, as he won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys and has seen the team fail to get anywhere close to another championship since he left the team after the 2000 season.

The spotlight is on the Cowboys to prove this trade wasn’t a mistake, but perhaps that’s all that Jerry Jones wanted.
