Arizona Football's Big 12 Debut: Kickoff Time and TV Details Revealed—What This Game Could Mean for the Season!

Arizona is off to a blazing 3-0 start — the kind they haven’t seen since 2015 — and it’s no surprise that the spotlight is finally starting to creep their way as Big 12 Conference battles draw near. The Wildcats are gearing up for a prime-time showdown that’s got a bit of history dusted off. Come Sept. 27, they’ll hustle to No. 12 Iowa State’s turf for their first encounter since 1968, a game that Wildcats fans surely remember fondly from their 21-12 win in Ames. With a 4-1-1 record against the Cyclones, Arizona knows this rivalry’s got layers, even if the years have piled on. And it’s not just Iowa State on their fresh radar — their October home opener against Oklahoma State marks another rare face-off, a first since 2012. Throw in the fact that the Wildcats haven’t graced ESPN’s main stage since last year’s Big 12 opener win at Utah, and that they’ve dominated recently under the lights with four straight night wins, you’ve got one heck of a narrative unfolding. It’s an electrifying moment — the kind that brings excitement, expectations, and maybe a few nerves too. LEARN MORE

Off to its first 3-0 start since 2015, Arizona is slowly beginning to get some national attention as Big 12 Conference play looms. And that first league test will be in prime time.

The UA’s Big 12 opener at No. 12 Iowa State on Sept. 27 will kick off at 4 p.m. PT and air on ESPN.

This will mark the first meeting between Arizona (3-0) and Iowa State (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) since 1968, when the Wildcats won 21-12 in Ames. The UA is 4-1-1 all-time against the Cyclones.

Iowa State is one of five Big 12 schools that Arizona will be playing for the first time in a while, if ever. The conference home opener, on Oct. 4 against Oklahoma State, will mark the first meeting with the Cowboys since 2012.

Arizona has not played on the main ESPN network since last season’s Big 12 opener, which it won 23-10 at Utah. The Wildcats have won four straight night games and five of six.
