Kemon Spell’s Surprising Penn State Visit: What It Means for the Future Revealed
You know how recruiting seasons can feel like a whirlwind? Well, Penn State is stirring the pot again with some pretty intriguing moves on the horizon. Kemon Spell, the hotshot 2027 running back who’s already pledged to the Nittany Lions, just dropped in for an unofficial visit to Happy Valley — and he bypassed a scheduled trip to Notre Dame for it. That alone tells you something — loyalty or maybe a solid feeling about PSU’s future. Meanwhile, James Franklin didn’t waste any time following their win over Villanova, paying a visit to committed Khalil Taylor, signaling that Penn State’s relationship-building game is on point. And it doesn’t stop there: fresh offers for up-and-coming talent like 2028 quarterback James Armstrong are flying out, even if he’s still flying under the radar. Oh, and there’s some shake-up drama too — with Virginia Tech’s Thomas Wilder hitting the open market after the coaching change, Penn State might just have a golden opportunity to lure him in. Oh, and mark your calendars because wide receiver Matthew Gregory is gearing up for that electric White Out game visit in support of the Lions’ 2027 class, hoping to seal the deal with a bang. Stay tuned — this recruiting saga’s just getting juicy.

Kemon Spell Makes Unofficial Visit
Top 2027 running back recruit and current Penn State commit Kemon Spell made an unofficial visit to Happy Valley:
Earlier in the summer, Spell had scheduled a visit to Notre Dame for September 13th but decided to come to Penn State instead. It looks like a good sign that Spell is still on board with Penn State’s 2027 class. Until I hear otherwise, Spell is a Nittany Lion.
James Franklin Visits Khalil Taylor
Following Saturday’s win over Villanova, James Franklin visited Khalil Taylor yesterday:
Franklin’s arrival via chopper was a nice touch. Taylor is currently committed to Penn State. He is teammates with four-star cornerback Jay Timmons, who has committed to Florida State. Flipping Timmons is unlikely, but the Lions will still reach out to him.
Penn State Offers 2028 Quarterback
It’s not too early to get started on 2028 recruiting. Penn State has offered 2028 Aliquippa quarterback James Armstrong:
Armstrong does not have a current star rating, but the Nittany Lions clearly see something with him that is worth giving him an offer now. Pitt and North Carolina are his only other power conference offers at this time.
Thomas Wilder Decommits from Virginia Tech
Four-star Virginia offensive tackle Thomas Wilder decommitted from Virginia Tech yesterday, likely a result of the Hokies firing Brent Pry on Sunday:
Wilder made an official visit to Penn State on June 6, his only visit to State College so far. A flip is potentially in play for the Nittany Lions. Expect Penn State to pursue several recruits in the commonwealth with Virginia Tech now searching for a new coach.
Matthew Gregory Schedules White Out Visit
Four-star 2027 Pennsylvania wide receiver Matthew Gregory has scheduled a visit for the White Out game:
Gregory is the No. 4 overall wide receiver in the 2027 class. He is currently a Penn State lean, but the Nittany Lions will need to seal the deal. Hopefully a win over Oregon will convince him to commit to PSU.
