Even so, given his talent and heavy usage in the offense, most people agreed that the tight end would bounce back this season.
That hasn’t been the case so far.
As shown by NFL insider Field Yates, Andrews has been a non-factor in the Ravens’ passing game in the first two weeks, with two receptions for seven yards.
“I’m not even sure nervous is the right word. Sad? Despondent? Mark Andrews is a ghost. One catch in back-to-back games. It certainly felt like this offseason, Mark Andrews was a possibility to not return to the Ravens. He’s back. Isaiah Likely gets hurt. Glimmer of hope, but for now, he does not belong in (fantasy football) lineups,” Yates said.

Andrews was Lamar Jackson’s favorite target at one point.
He lost some ground to Likely, and the fact that Jackson isn’t even looking Andrews’ way, or they’re not calling plays for him, might be an indication of the beginning of the end.
He’s a proven veteran, and he holds multiple franchise records.
He will be remembered as a team legend no matter what.
But if the Ravens feel like he’s already in decline, they’re not going to take any chances.
They are a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and as such, they can’t afford to have any of their veterans falling short.
Perhaps Andrews is dealing with an undisclosed injury.
Even worse, perhaps he hasn’t been able to get over his crucial drop in a playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Whatever the case, his lack of involvement in the offense is telling, and it’ll be interesting to see how the Ravens use him in the next couple of weeks.
