Unexpected Turn in Texas A&M vs. Auburn Injury Report Could Shift the Game’s Outcome Dramatically
Here we go — No. 9 Texas A&M is gearing up to square off against Auburn as they kick off SEC play this weekend. On paper, this looks like one of those nail-biters that’ll go down to the wire, a scrappy, low-scoring grind where every single minute counts. But if you caught the Aggies slicing through Notre Dame 41-40 on the road, you’d’ve seen a different story — one where the air attack reigns supreme. Marcel Reed just torched the field for 360 yards through the sky, with Mario Craver racking up a jaw-dropping 207 receiving yards after transferring in. So, expect fireworks from the passing game. Now, mix in the latest injury buzz from Coach Mike Elko — Bryce Anderson’s got a head injury but should make a comeback this season, while Scooby Williams is still a question mark after tweaking his ankle. Auburn’s facing their own hurdles too, with senior WR Horatio Fields sidelined due to a broken foot, and a couple of key starters hovering in the probable range. It’s shaping up to be a chess match filled with twists and turns — and honestly, I can’t wait to see how it unfolds Saturday afternoon. LEARN MORE

No. 9 Texas A&M will take on Auburn to open SEC play, which, on paper, appears to be a tight, low-scoring matchup that could be decided in the final minutes. However, after the Aggies’ defeat of Notre Dame 41-40 on the road, this could be a game dominated by Texas A&M’s passing game, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed threw for 360 yards, combined with transfer WR Mario Craver’s 207 receiving yards.
This week, coach Mike Elko provided several injury updates, headlined by safety Bryce Anderson, who reportedly has a head injury and is still expected to return to the field sometime this season. On Wednesday, the first initial SEC Availability report showed that Anderson is unsurprisingly out, while senior linebacker Scooby Williams was listed as questionable after hurting his ankle against Notre Dame.
On Thursday, the latest availability report did not change for the Aggies, as Williams remains questionable with a 50% chance of playing. Still, for Marcel Reed, he will now face Auburn starting cornerback Jay Crawford, who was previously listed as questionable, but is now off the injury list and will play on Saturday afternoon.
Auburn senior wide receiver Horatio Fields is out after breaking his foot, while starting lineman Connor Lew and defensive end Amaris Williams are probable, giving them a 75% chance to play.
