Shockwaves Through Packers’ Ranks: Week 3 Ranking Raises Alarming Questions About Key Unit’s Future
So, here’s the kicker — the Green Bay Packers started the season like a couple of prizefighters, knocking out the Lions and Commanders with all the flair of a team destined for glory. Yet, behind that early swagger lies a pesky little truth: their offensive line is, let’s just say, less fortress and more house of cards. After taking a beating in Week 3 against the Browns, they now sport the league’s lowest pass protection ranking, courtesy of “The 33rd Team.” Seriously, how does a squad that can celebrate like Micah Parsons does in that iconic Lambeau moment find itself hobbling where it matters most? It’s the kind of paradox that makes you wonder — can hype and hope carry Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs through without the sturdy wall they so desperately need? Well, buckle up, because while the scoreboard might’ve smiled early on, the real test is just around the corner, and those battered linemen are counting on a Week 5 breather to patch things up before the crucible heats even more.

They say that winning can disguise a lot of issues, a statement that seems to be especially true in the NFL.
The Green Bay Packers took care of business in their first two games of the season, and considering their opponents were the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, they looked to be contenders coming out of the gate.
It’s certainly not the time to push the panic button on this team yet, but their offensive line struggles were well-documented in the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Injuries played a factor, but even though they’ve been banged up, the Packers have the lowest-ranked pass protection unit in the league, per “The 33rd Team” ranking on X.

Jordan Love could have all the hype in the world, as could Josh Jacobs, but until both of them get consistent help from their offensive linemen, they will only be able to take this team so far.
The good news is that while they’re ranked last in this particular category, better days should be ahead.
Green Bay has a Week 5 bye, which is normally not preferred, but it could give their injured offensive linemen a needed day off, which will hopefully turn into long-term health moving forward.
The Dallas Cowboys are a relatively easy matchup for them on paper, as are the banged-up Cincinnati Bengals, the struggling Arizona Cardinals, and the identity-less Carolina Panthers, who are some of their next opponents.
They can afford to not have their best linemen in place for those games, but certainly won’t be the case when it comes to facing the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens later in the season.
