Packers Coach Drops Unexpected Truth About Special Teams’ Hidden Crisis

So here we are, a few weeks into the season, and the Green Bay Packers’ special teams are… well, how shall I put it? Let’s just say, they’ve been more of a “work in progress” than the well-oiled machine fans had hoped for. Remember that nail-biter against the Browns, when a last-second blocked field goal dashed hopes and left us all scratching our heads? Yeah, that one. I can’t help but wonder—how does a unit with such high stakes still find itself fumbling the fundamentals? Special teams coach Rich Bisaccia’s recent frank admission that the squad isn’t where it needs to be doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, but hey, maybe this rough patch is the crucible where future greatness is forged. Buckle up, because the road to redemption might be bumpier than the kickoff itself.

Green Bay Packers fans had a lot to be excited about heading into the year.

There was a general sense that the offense was going to take a step forward, with many believing Jordan Love could put an MVP-like season together and that the addition of Micah Parsons would yield impressive results on the defensive side of the ball.

However, there was skepticism that the team hadn’t done enough to make their special teams unit better, a prediction that has unfortunately come to fruition through the first three weeks of the season.

Special teams coach Rich Bisaccia talked about this in a recent press conference, which reporter Ryan Wood highlighted on X.

Bisaccia recognized that things aren’t going as well as he would have hoped through the first three weeks of the season, but he genuinely believes that better days are ahead.

The Packers’ special teams unit allowed a blocked field goal in the final seconds of their Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, one of the plays that cost them the game.

It was noted that tight end Tucker Kraft was on the edge to block for this play, even though he hadn’t been on the field goal unit in previous attempts.

Bisaccia will look to improve his personnel in these situations in the weeks to come, as they can’t afford to make mistakes against any opponent, especially when they face some of the best teams in the league.
