Saquon Barkley’s Mysterious Knee Battle: Will He Shock Everyone and Play in Week 6?

Saquon Barkley’s name popped up on the injury report this week, making Eagles fans hold their breath—yet here we are, hearing he’s fully geared up for the Week 6 showdown against none other than his old stomping grounds, the New York Giants. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze for Philadelphia after their Sunday stumble against the Broncos, leading to a no-practice Monday, which meant an estimated practice report was all we got. If there had been a session, Barkley would’ve been a no-show, nursing that pesky knee. Still, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year isn’t letting a little soreness keep him sidelined—per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, he’s all set to bring his game to MetLife Stadium. Sure, the Eagles’ offense hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboard lately, but Barkley’s racked up nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns over five games, even if Denver managed to clamp down on his rushing last time. I personally feel this NFC East clash is shaping up to be as much about Barkley’s resilience as it is about the team’s fight. Curious to dive deeper into the details? LEARN MORE.

Saquon Barkley reportedly fully expects to play in Week 6 despite the Philadelphia Eagles running back popping up on the injury report for their clash with the New York Giants on Thursday.

The Eagles did not practice on Monday amid the short turnaround from Sunday’s defeat to the Denver Broncos, but published an estimated practice report.

Had the Eagles held practice, Barkley would not have participated because of a knee injury.

But the reigning Offensive Player of the Year is expected to feature for the Eagles when they visit MetLife Stadium to face Barkley’s former team.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Barkley is dealing with “general soreness”, but has no doubt he will be available for the NFC East clash.

Barkley has 395 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns through five games as the Philadelphia offense has struggled even as they have compiled a 4-1 record.

He was held to just 30 rushing yards on six carries by Denver, but scored on a 47-yard reception.
