The Chicago Bears entered the 2024 NFL Draft with championship aspirations, selecting Caleb Williams first overall and Rome Odunze ninth to transform their passing attack.

Fans expected the duo to deliver explosive plays and a 4,000-yard passing season, but their rookie campaigns showed flashes without reaching dominance.

The hiring of Ben Johnson as head coach brought renewed optimism for an offensive revival centered around Odunze’s abilities.

One PFF analyst believes Week 6 could showcase even more production against Washington’s man-heavy defensive scheme.

Through four games in 2025, that potential is turning into reality. Odunze has emerged as one of the NFL’s top young receivers, scoring touchdowns in each of the first four contests.

He became the first Bear since Walter Payton to reach that milestone and the first player this season to score in four straight games.

At his current pace, Odunze is tracking toward 85 catches, 1,258 yards, and 21 touchdowns in his sophomore campaign.

He caught six passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against Minnesota despite the loss.

Against Detroit, he hauled in seven receptions for 128 yards and two scores in a defeat.

In Chicago’s first win, he added three catches for 62 yards and another touchdown before contributing four receptions for 69 yards and a score in the Week 4 victory over the Raiders.

He has firmly claimed the WR1 role over DJ Moore, whose trade value could spike as the NFL deadline approaches.

Chicago’s receiver room appears to be shaping around Odunze and rookie Luther Burden III, with Moore potentially becoming an attractive asset for teams seeking help at the position.
