The Green Bay Packers came into the 2025 NFL season surrounded by a lot of buzz and excitement.

After all, they had just added Micah Parsons to their defense, a player who is often described as a game-wrecker.

Parsons was the talk of the town, and rightfully so, given his track record and the record-breaking contract he was given, but he’s far from the only defender on this team.

The Packers have several other extremely talented defensive players alongside Parsons, which could make them a dangerous opponent down the stretch when fully healthy.

Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley talked about this in a recent press conference, speaking highly of Devonte Wyatt, who will likely miss more time with a knee injury.

“He’s having a great year — not a good year, a great year. … Hope he’s back very shortly but part of our job is to develop guys,” Hafley said.

Wyatt was the Packers’ first-round pick in 2022, and he’s certainly been an impactful player when healthy.

His stats haven’t necessarily popped off the page this year, racking up just six total tackles and two sacks, but the value he provides isn’t always found in the box score.

Plus, the Packers’ defensive front is filled with players who can get home to the quarterback and make big plays, so they don’t need one player in particular to light it up, statistically.

The Packers can afford to have Wyatt miss a few weeks with a light schedule coming up, at least on paper, but it will be critical to have him back later in the season against a team like the Philadelphia Eagles or Detroit Lions.
