Cowboys Coach Drops Surprising Reveal on Trevon Diggs' Injury Status—What Fans Need to Know Now!

Is Trevon Diggs going to suit up for the Cowboys this Sunday, or is the secondary about to face another trial by fire? The Dallas Cowboys’ defensive dynamo, known far and wide as a ball-hawking nightmare for opposing receivers, finds himself sidelined once more — stuck in concussion protocol after a mysterious head injury at home. Watching this play out, I can’t help but wonder: can the Cowboys withstand the brewing storm without their star cornerback, or will Kaiir Elam finally step into the spotlight and prove he’s more than just a fill-in? With practice reps slipping through Diggs’ fingers and the Broncos looming, Dallas is juggling caution with necessity, and every fan’s pulse quickens. It’s a precarious moment for a defense that thrives on precision — so, buckle up, because Week 8 might just redefine the Cowboys’ season.

Trevon Diggs has been a cornerstone of the Dallas Cowboys‘ defense under coordinator Matt Eberflus, known league-wide for his ball-hawking ability and playmaking instincts.

The star cornerback has been sidelined recently after sustaining a head injury at home earlier this season that placed him in concussion protocol.

His absence has left questions about the secondary heading into a crucial stretch of the schedule.

Moreover, his availability for Sunday’s matchup against the Denver Broncos appears increasingly uncertain.

After more than a week away from practice, Thursday brought an update from Eberflus regarding Diggs’ status.

“Cowboys DC Matt Eberflus says CB Trevon Diggs remains in concussion protocol and his availability to play diminishes the longer team goes through prep week without him,” Ed Werder reported.

Eberflus provided no additional details on how the injury occurred, leaving the situation surrounded by uncertainty.

While he did not officially rule Diggs out for Sunday, the reality is straightforward.

Missing multiple practices makes it difficult for any player to prepare adequately, especially at a position that demands precise communication and timing.

The Cowboys are proceeding cautiously with their top cornerback as they monitor his progress through the protocol.

In Diggs’ absence, the Cowboys have turned to Kaiir Elam, who has already appeared in four games this season due to various injuries in the secondary.

Week 8 could present another significant opportunity for the young cornerback to prove his value.

Elam showed improvement against the Commanders, and Dallas hopes he can build on that performance against Denver’s receiving corps of Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and Marvin Mims.

A strong showing could solidify his role as a reliable long-term option.
