Shocking Twist in NBA MVP Race: New Betting Favorite Emerges Overnight!

Shocking Twist in NBA MVP Race: New Betting Favorite Emerges Overnight!

Is it just me, or is this NBA season turning into one wild rollercoaster right out of the gate? We’ve all seen stars come and go, but Victor Wembanyama stepping up as the new MVP favorite—surpassing the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—is nothing short of electrifying. I mean, with numbers like 31 points, nearly 14 rebounds and almost 5 blocks a game, the guy isn’t just playing basketball; he’s rewriting the playbook while the Spurs roar out to an undefeated 4-0 start. Could we be witnessing the rare fusion of MVP and Defensive Player of the Year—and, dare I say it, the dawn of an era where the ‘league is doomed’ to be dominated by a fenomenon? Stick around, because this storyline is just heating up, and if Wemby keeps this up, the entire basketball landscape might have to rewrite its history books… again.

The NBA season is still very young, but it’s already been an explosive and unpredictable one.

The race for this year’s MVP is off to a roaring start, with the usual suspects in the mix for the prize.

But one player is the betting favorite to be named the Most Valuable Player for 2025-26.

According to Polymarket, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has surpassed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the odds-on favorite for MVP.

Wembanyama has a 29.0 percent chance of winning MVP, while Gilgeous-Alexander sits right behind him at 28 percent, Nikola Jokic has 17 percent, and Luka Doncic has 15 percent.

There were whispers of Wembanyama becoming MVP this season, but most people thought his best bet was winning Defensive Player of the Year.

After his remarkable start of 31.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 4.8 blocks per game, Wembanyama is now in the mix for both prizes.

It would be the first time in years that a player has become both MVP and DPOY.

On top of all that, the Spurs have gotten off to a dynamic start and have a 4-0 record.

Wembanyama is playing better at an unreal level, and his team is benefiting from that.

There are still many months left in the season, and the battle for this trophy will only heat up.

In order to stay in contention, Wembanyama will have to keep producing these sorts of stats.

If he does, there will be no doubt that he’s the league’s brightest young star and one of the best big men to ever grace the court.

People thought Wembanyama would be better than ever this year, but few thought he’d be this incredible.
