Week 11 Showdowns: The Unpredictable College Football Games That Could Change Everything

The 10th week of the 2025 college football season didn’t just bring the heat — it turned up the entire thermostat. Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, North Texas, USC — they all stormed the field with towering victories that have completely redrawn the College Football Playoff landscape. With just a mere four weeks remaining in the regular lineup, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and the tension? Oh, it’s thick enough to cut with a knife. Oklahoma’s big win over Tennessee sets the Sooners up for their second and final breather in Week 11 — a chance to catch their breath while the rest of the nation braces for another Saturday full of unpredictability and electrifying football drama. Even with OU sidelined, the card this weekend is stacked with not-to-miss showdowns that could flip the season on its head. Ready to dive into the most crucial games lighting up Week 11? LEARN MORE

Week 10 of the 2025 college football season was certainly one to remember. Big wins by Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, North Texas and USC, among others, have helped to re-shape the College Football Playoff picture, and the season overall. With four weeks left in the regular season, there are still so many important games left to be played.

After Oklahoma’s important victory over Tennessee, the Sooners will be on their second and final bye week of the year in Week 11. They’ll get to sit back and enjoy a slate that looks ripe for chaos and unexpected results on the second Saturday of November.

While OU takes the week off, there’s no shortage of great action to watch this weekend. Here are the top five games you need to be paying attention to in Week 11.

1. BYU at Texas Tech, 11:00 a.m. CT

The Big 12’s game of the year to this point features the Cougars and the Red Raiders squaring off in a battle of the conference’s two best teams right now. BYU is the only team outside of the SEC and Big Ten that is still unbeaten in 2025, while Texas Tech has just one loss. ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be in Lubbock, making the trek to Big 12 country for the second-straight week.

BYU and head coach Kalani Sitake have won a number of close games this year, but they haven’t played a team with the overall talent level that they will on Saturday. Meanwhile, Texas Tech and head coach Joey McGuire will have the home-field advantage in this matchup. It’s one of the biggest games of the past two years for the conference, and it’ll possibly determine a CFP spot.

2. Texas A&M at Missouri, 2:30 p.m. CT

The SEC’s game of the week will feature undefeated Texas A&M going on the road to play a dangerous Missouri squad that has just two losses. The Aggies won this game in dominant fashion last year in College Station, so the Tigers will be looking for revenge this week in Columbia.

We’ll learn a lot about both teams in this one. Texas A&M looks primed for a spot in the SEC title game, but they’ve got a couple of tough tests to navigate first, beginning this week. Quarterback Marcel Reed will look to continue his strong play. On the other side, Missouri needs this one if they want to have much of a shot at the playoff, and we’ll get our first look at true freshman QB Matt Zollers in a pivotal game in CoMo.

3. Oregon at Iowa, 2:30 p.m. CT

Oregon and Iowa will square off in the Big Ten’s most important game of Week 11, as the Ducks will look to avoid the Hawkeyes’ upset attempt in Iowa City. Oregon’s only loss came to Indiana, while Iowa has been beaten by both Iowa State and Indiana.

Dan Lanning and the Ducks will need a little help to get into the conference title game, but they’ve more than likely got to run the table the rest of the way, starting in this game. Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes are always a tough out because of their defense, but can the offense keep up with Oregon’s high-flying attack? Kinnick Stadium is a hard place to play, and Iowa has pulled off more than a few shockers there over the years.

4. LSU at Alabama, 6:30 p.m. CT

This game has lost a little bit of its luster, as it feels like these programs may be heading in opposite directions. LSU just made a head coaching change despite being 5-3 this year. However, the Tigers went all-in this offseason, and the results haven’t matched that strategy. They’ll be looking for revenge after a blowout loss at home in this game in 2024.

On the other hand, Alabama is rising each week, and after an early loss to Florida State, the Crimson Tide have pulled off impressive wins over Georgia, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Tennessee to sit at 7-1. Kalen DeBoer and the Tide are unbeaten in SEC play, and they might be the best team in the country. They’ll have to show up against a motivated squad on Saturday.

5. Wake Forest at Virginia, 6:00 p.m. CT

The Demon Deacons and the Cavaliers will square off in an under-the-radar game in the ACC this week. Upset-minded Wake Forest is having a nice year under first-year head coach Jake Dickert, but they’ll be underdogs on the road this week. Virginia is the highest-ranked team in the ACC right now, and the only school without a conference loss. It’s been a resurgent year for Tony Elliott in Charlottesville.

Two well-traveled, veteran quarterbacks will face off in this one. Wake Forest’s Robby Ashford has made stops at Oregon, Auburn and South Carolina, while Virginia’s Chandler Morris has been with Oklahoma, TCU and North Texas. The ACC has already been unpredictable in 2025, but if the Demon Deacons upset the Cavaliers, it’ll get even crazier.
