Shocking Turn: Texas Football Loses 4-Star DL Dylan Berymon—What’s Next for the Longhorns?
With National Signing Day just a month away, the recruiting landscape is suddenly buzzing with some unexpected drama. Four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon, a guy who had seemed locked in with the Texas Longhorns since June, has thrown a curveball by reopening his recruitment. This Louisiana standout, ranked 23rd nationally among defensive linemen by Rivals, is stirring the pot after visits not only to Texas’s Forty Acres but also to Ole Miss—where he’s been spotted at game days, including the recent showdown against LSU. Berymon’s journey hasn’t been a stroll in the park; back before his initial commitment, USC and Mississippi State were front-runners, with LSU and Texas A&M circling as well. Rated 216th overall in the 2026 class and a top-10 prospect from “The Boot,” Dylan’s next move could shake up the SEC and beyond. Curious to get the full scoop?

One month away until National Signing Day, one of the top defensive linemen in the 2026 classes has reopened his recruitment.
Four-star DL Dylan Berymon backed off his commitment to the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday, he tells Rivals.
Berymon committed to Texas in June.
USC and Mississippi State were finalists for Berymon prior to his commitment to the Longhorns over the summer. LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M were other SEC programs squarely in the mix with the Louisiana prospect during stretches of his recruitment.
The Rivals Industry Ranking No. 23 DL out of Monroe (La.) Ouachita Parish has made a string of visits back to the Forty Acres and also Ole Miss this fall. Berymon has made a pair of game-day visits to Oxford, most recently to catch the Rebels against LSU.
Berymon is tabbed as the No. 216 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 8 player from The Boot in this cycle.
