Bengals Drop Two Bombshell Roster Moves That Could Change The Season’s Fate
So, here we are again—Cincinnati Bengals, clawing their way through a season riddled with lineup shakeups and late-game breakdowns. You ever wonder if patching together linebackers from the practice squad is the NFL equivalent of duct-taping a leaky pipe? Brian Asamoah II’s elevation and the signing of rookie Antwaun Powell-Ryland might not be headline-grabbers, but after trading away veteran Logan Wilson, Cincinnati’s hanging by a thread, desperate for depth. With Joe Flacco dropping points yet the defense folding in crunch time, the real question isn’t just if the Bengals can make the playoffs—it’s whether their makeshift defense can hold steady long enough to get them there. And as they gear up to face the Steelers post-bye week, I’m sitting here wondering: can this patched-up squad pull off the kind of magic we all crave, or are we witnessing the slow unraveling of what once felt like a promising campaign?

The Cincinnati Bengals refuse to give up on the season. Their offensive line and defensive woes continue to haunt them, but they still have a chance to make the playoffs in the AFC.
They recently made two roster moves on their practice squad. They elevated linebacker Brian Asamoah II to the active roster and signed linebacker Antwaun Powell-Ryland.
Coming off their bye week, the Bengals visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

Asamoah is in his fourth year in the NFL. He joined the team’s practice squad in late October and played in the Week 9 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Powell-Ryland was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft and spent time on their practice squad.
These moves aren’t likely to move the needle that much for Cincinnati. But after trading veteran linebacker Logan Wilson to the Dallas Cowboys at the NFL deadline, they need depth at the position.
The Bengals are still in the race in the AFC North, but they need to close out games better. New quarterback Joe Flacco has put up points, but after losing back-to-back games on fourth-quarter drives, it’s clear that the defense has to hold up its end of the bargain as well.
