Former Oregon Lineman Ramsen Golpashin Poised to Revolutionize SJSU's Offensive Line—Here's What It Means for the Team's Future

When you hear the name Ramsen Golpashin, you might just want to sit up and take notice—because San Jose State is reportedly lining up this former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman and coach to rebuild their offensive line from the trenches up. Now, before you say, “Who’s that?” let me take you on a quick journey through Golpashin’s extensive coaching exploits—from cutting his teeth under Chip Kelly at Oregon, hopping around coaching gigs at Hawaii, Cal, and UCLA, and even a stint with the Green Bay Packers. It’s pretty clear the Spartans are hoping to inject some serious know-how into a unit that struggled mightily last season, ranking near the basement in both scoring and rushing yards. With Ken Niumatalolo at the helm, this hire could be just the spark they’ve been hunting for. Oh, and interestingly enough, this news broke just as Alabama swooped in to snag another Ducks’ former offensive line coach, Adrian Klemm. Coincidence? Maybe not. The San Jose State Spartans are expected to hire former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman and offensive graduate assistant coach Ramsen Golpashin as the program’s new offensive line coach, per The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. The news comes on the same day that the Alabama Crimson Tide announced that they were hiring former Ducks offensive line coach Adrian Klemm for the same position.

Golpashin played for Ducks under head coach Chip Kelly before beginning his coaching career at Hawaii in 2015. From there, he came back to Oregon as an offensive graduate assistant before coaching at California in 2017.

In 2018, Kelly brought Golpashin onto his staff at UCLA as a graduate assistant coach. He stayed on the staff for five seasons before departing and coaching with the Green Bay Packers for two seasons. The former Ducks offensive lineman went back to UCLA in 2025 as a senior defensive analyst.

Now, he’s expected to be hired by San Jose State as the offensive line coach under head coach Ken Niumatalolo.

The Spartans finished tied for 113th in points per game a season ago and 111th in rushing yards, clearly needing a reinvigoration in the offensive line room. Thanks to his vast coaching experience and playing experience with the Ducks, Golpashin will have a chance to help improve San Jose State’s offensive line room.
