NHL Rumors Heat Up: Are the Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken Plotting a Game-Changing Move?

Trade winds are stirring in the NHL as we inch closer to the deadline, and the Vancouver Canucks find themselves at a crossroads with Evander Kane and Teddy Blueger. Kane, despite some recent spark on the ice, faces a chilly trade market that’s less than blazing. The team’s looking to turn him into future assets—draft picks—while Kane himself needs to amp up his game if he’s aiming for a lucrative contract next season. Meanwhile, Blueger’s comeback from a long layoff might just catch the eye of a squad hungry for depth, though he has to prove he’s fully back in action. These moves, subtle yet significant, highlight the ever-evolving chess match teams play as the deadline looms. Curious to dig deeper? LEARN MORE.

Evander Kane and Teddy Blueger likely moved by the trade deadline

Harman Dayal of The Athletic: Evander Kane is one Vancouver Canucks pending UFA who could be moved ahead of the trade deadline. He’s been playing better of late and can still be an effective winger. Still, his trade market has been reported as ‘lukewarm.’ They’ll be looking to flip Kane at the deadline for a draft pick. Kane also needs to pick up his game if he’s looking to secure a better contract for next season.

Teddy Blueger has recently returned, and a team looking for some depth might come calling. He’s missed almost the entire year, so he’ll need to show teams he’s healthy leading up to the deadline.

NHL Rumors: New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and Trade Tiers.

The Seattle Kraken are dangling Shane Wright as they look for scoring help

Sekeres and Price: David Pagnotta on the Sekeres and Price Show talking about the Seattle Kraken dangling Shane Wright for a scoring, top-six winger.

“Seattle Kraken, Jason Botterill, their GM, willing to listen and willing to dangle Shane Wright. Now, they’re not trying to get rid of them in terms of just giving them away. They haven’t given up on him.

But this is a team that, since the summer, has been looking for, effectively, a top-line guy, top-line winner. And they’ve been exploring the market.

They were connected, and they had interest around the draft, and Jordan Kyrou with St Louis. Obviously, they weren’t able to pull that off.

But they’ve expected a little bit more out of him. They expected a little bit of an incline to this point. He’s wanted more ice time, but there’s still a lot of, lot of talent there, and a lot of potential that the Kraken view and a few other teams as well.

NHL Rumors: Shane Wright Could be Available for a Scorer

But if they can get their hands on a top-six, preferably a first-line quality winger, it sounds like that’s what they’re looking to do, and Shane White is available.”
