Seahawks Play-Caller Klint Kubiak's Raiders Reunion: What’s Fueling the Second Interview?

It’s funny how fortunes twist in the blink of an eye in the NFL. Just a few weeks back, Klint Kubiak, Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator, was all anyone could talk about as the premier name itching to take command on the head coaching front. And then—bam!—fast forward a month, and the narrative flips. Thanks to a knockout tactical display that left the Los Angeles Rams grasping at straws, Kubiak’s Seahawks are charging full throttle straight into the Super Bowl spotlight. With just a pair of head coaching vacancies left across the league, the buzz now revolves around Kubiak’s next move. Will he dive into the deep end with the Las Vegas Raiders or take a shot with the Arizona Cardinals? Rumor has it he’s set to dazzle the Raiders’ front office this Saturday, so all eyes will be glued to that interview. But hold on—he’s not rushing; insiders suggest he’s leaning toward sticking with the Seahawks unless some jaw-dropping offer from the Cardinals drops his way. This whole saga is practically a slow-burning thriller as the coaching carousel spins—sooner than later, we might finally get clarity on where Kubiak’s journey leads next. LEARN MORE

After the end of the NFL’s regular season, Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak appeared to be one of the hottest names in the coaching carousel.

However, a month later, that landscape looks completely different. Kubiak’s Seahawks are headed to the Super Bowl after a masterclass performance by him against the Los Angeles Rams, and only two head coaching jobs remain open in the league.

It seems Kubiak will have his choice between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals if he wants to take the leap to leading an organization. He’ll have an opportunity to impress the Raiders’ brass this Saturday, according to Raider Nation Radio host and California Post columnist Vincent Bonsignore.

Kubiak has met with both the Raiders and Cardinals once before, during the Wild Card weekend when the Seahawks were on bye. During this pre-Super Bowl bye week, Kubiak can only be interviewed by either the Riaders or Cardinals. Essential Sports writer Tony Pauline reported that Kubiak will be speaking with the Cardinals “later in the week.” Pauline said he was told Kubiak would prefer to stay with the Seahawks unless the Cardinals’ offer was “amazing.”

The Raiders have been interested in Kubiak from the start of the coaching cycle, and so it’s possible the Seahawks will know more about their future at OC as soon as Saturday.
