Erling Haaland insisted that the Premier League title race is “not over until it’s over” following Manchester City’s late win over Liverpool.
After Dominik Szoboszlai’s brilliant free-kick put Liverpool ahead at Anfield, Haaland assisted Bernardo Silva’s equaliser before scoring the winner from the penalty spot.
Timed at 92:42, Haaland’s penalty for City was the latest winning goal by a visiting team at Anfield in the Premier League on record (since 2006-07).
City, meanwhile, achieved a league double over Liverpool for the first time since 1936-37, with this just the sixth time they have ever done so against the Reds.
A loss would have seen them drop nine points behind league leaders Arsenal, but they now remain six points off the Gunners with 13 games to go.
City beat Arsenal to the Premier League title in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and Haaland has not given up hope of lifting the trophy again in May.
“It’s three points, simple as that, no matter who you play, if it is Tottenham or whatever,” said the Norway international.

“We’ve seen before that the title race is not over until it’s over.
“Of course, and look at the emotions with the fans in the end, it was amazing. They deserve it, after supporting us, week in, week out, and, yeah, they definitely deserve to win at Anfield.
“I’ve never won here before, so it’s amazing to come here and be able to win for the first time.
“As everyone knows, it’s not easy because of the history that City and Liverpool have had for the last decade. There’s also history behind it also. So, of course, it’s a good feeling.”
City host Fulham on Wednesday, and with Arsenal not facing Brentford until Thursday, Pep Guardiola’s side could move within three points of the Gunners before their London derby.
