During a visit to Ohio State for a spring practice last Friday, he picked up a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes, and another from Penn State two days later.Smith is the No. 844 overall prospect in the class, according to the composite rankings from 247Sports. Multiple recruiting services list him as 6 feet 5 and 248 pounds.
The series of commitments in the trenches coincide with Tyler Bowen’s hiring as offensive line coach last month. Bowen replaced Justin Frye, who left for the same position with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals after three seasons with the Buckeyes.
