Al-Nassr’s season has already been filled with tension, from on-field struggles to speculation about head coach Stefano Pioli’s future. Now, the club finds itself at the center of another controversy—one that involves one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates facing legal troubles after an incident during the international break.

While the Knight of Najd chase Saudi Pro League glory, they remain ten points behind Al-Ittihad, making their title hopes increasingly unrealistic. Reports of tension between Pioli and Ronaldo have only fueled uncertainty, and now, a new controversy threatens to disrupt the team even further.

During the recent international break, Al-Nassr forward Jhon Duran sparked outrage after he was seen riding a three-wheeled motorbike in Colombia—without a helmet. The 21-year-old striker, who joined the club from Aston Villa in January, had returned home following March’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. While many players use these breaks to recharge, Duran’s choice of relaxation landed him in hot water.

A video posted on social media showed the 21-year-old striker riding a Ryker motorcycle through the streets of Medellin. However, neither he nor his passengers wore helmets, which is a direct violation of Colombia’s road safety laws.

He captioned his post with a reflective message: Always do it with your loved ones, that’s what remains, and don’t try to please everyone, that’s not good.” However, his words did little to ease the criticism from fans, many of whom saw the incident as reckless.

Fans react to Duran’s recklessness

Social media quickly erupted with backlash against Duran, with many users calling him out for his irresponsible behavior. One comment summed up the frustration, stating: “No titles, no goals, no helmet.” Another wrote: “And the helmet? Safety and law.” Other fans mocked his decision, with one remarking“On the road on a motorcycle without a helmet. Too much reggaeton!” Another added: “Zero humility.”

The criticism wasn’t just about breaking the law—it was also tied to the player’s growing reputation for arrogance. This is not the first time he has faced controversy.

After Los Cafeteros’ 2-2 draw against Paraguay, Duran had a tense exchange with journalists, dismissing questions about internal criticism within the national team. His response—“None personally, and the team less so. We worked for the win, we ran, and we missed two chances, just like any team would.”—was labeled as dismissive and sparked further accusations of arrogance.
