Dive onto league for details and find out what could be the next big move for Gang Green!
Things have been extremely quiet as far as the New York Jets’ plans with their No. 7 overall pick go before the 2025 NFL Draft. However, a new report is circulating that could offer a tiny hint about their plans.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, who has been arguably the most plugged-in source on all Jets news this offseason, league sources have told her that they’ve been hearing about the “potential availability” of Jets running back Breece Hall in recent weeks. Hall has been the Jets’ leading rusher over the past three seasons recording over 3,600 yards from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns since being drafted in 2022.

But while Hall has been the Jets’ top running back for three years, his effectiveness declined in 2024. Some of that could be attributed to the offensive line, but the number of touches he received per game stayed about the same over last year.
Jets fans are understandably intrigued by the news, while fans of other teams are practically licking their lips at the idea of landed the talented running back.
“Love Breece but there’s prob 2-3 guys better than him right now in the draft,” one Jets fan noted.
“Oh boy. Here we go….i don’t know bout yall but Josina don’t just tweet (expletive) for no reason,” another fan wrote.
“I’d assume a team like Chicago or Dallas may be interested if they can’t get Jeanty.”
“I know a lot of #Jets fans would (understandably) be upset, but I think this is a real possibility. Mentioned it a while back. Not sure the Jets would actually consider Jeanty if he’s there at 7, but there’s a real chance Hall is traded this weekend. It’s not just smoke.”
If the Jets do trade Hall, it certainly opens up the possibility that they take star running back Ashton Jeanty as their pick. Jeanty nearly broke Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record last year while averaging a whopping 7.0 yards per carry.
The Jets have a number of needs in this draft, but Jeanty might be the best running back prospect since Saquon Barkley. If he falls to them, he’d be a hard player to pass on.
