Celtics Star’s MVP Buzz in Orlando Sparks Unexpected Frenzy—What’s Behind the Sudden Hype?
Here’s a curious twist in the playoffs: Imagine being a Celtics fan, miles away from Boston, yet hearing your guy—Jayson Tatum—getting MVP chants echoing through the Orlando Kia Center. How often does that happen, right? It’s like the archetypal underdog moment, only this time the “underdog” is one of the most storied franchises in sports history, with a star who’s quietly but surely staking his claim as a true MVP contender. After a rocky start to the series and a wrist injury scare, Tatum has come roaring back, delivering back-to-back 30-plus point games that have fans—and apparently even some Magic supporters—singing his praises on hostile ground. So, what’s next for this Celtics squad perched on the edge of the Eastern Conference semifinals? Let’s unpack how Tatum’s brilliance and this unexpected chorus of support could very well be the catalyst Boston needs to keep this playoff march alive.

The Boston Celtics stormed right back from a tough loss to win Game 4 of their first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic.
Notably, they did so with some help from their faithful fans.

This has been a recurring issue for the Magic, and with the Celtics one of the most historic franchises in all of sports, they have fans all over the world.
It’s also worth noting that Tatum did have an MVP-caliber performance in the win that gave the Celtics a 3-1 series lead.
After missing Game 2 with a bone bruise in his wrist, he scored 36 points in Game 3.
Then, in Game 4, he scored 37 points, shooting 10-of-25 from the floor and 14-of-14 from the free-throw line.
He also grabbed 14 rebounds, handed out three assists, knocked down three 3-pointers, and had three steals in 42 minutes to lead his team past a pesky and physical Magic squad.
The series will head back to TD Garden for Game 5.
The defending NBA champions can advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they would face the winner of the series between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons.
