While PSG might have cruised their way to even more domestic dominance in 2025, battles at both ends of the Ligue 1 table still need to be decided.

With the race for a lucrative Champions League ticket looking like it will go right down to the wire, we have five top-flight showdowns on the cards across Sunday.

For those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing Ligue 1 betting tips.

16:15 Brest vs Montpellier

While Brest might have enjoyed an impressive flurry on either side of March’s international break, the Pirates have come crashing back down to earth over the past fortnight. Falling to consecutive defats against Marseille and Lens, Eric Roy’s side have seen their outside European dreams get handed a final crucial blow. Despite getting April underway with a sensational 2-1 victory against French giants Monaco, Brest know the importance of finding some crucial defensive steel. Last seen falling to a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Marseille, Sunday’s hosts have shipped 10 goals in just their last three Ligue 1 appearances. Likewise, Roy’s camp have mustered just a pair of top-flight clean sheets at the Stade Francis-Le Ble since the start of October. Nevertheless, sat in the driving seat to book another top-half finish this month, Brest should be smelling a golden opportunity this weekend.

Although some in Montepellier’s camp might have opened up the 2024/25 campaign with their sights set on mounting their own respective top-flight charge, La Paillade have broken a string of unwanted records this season. With their Ligue 1 relegation already confirmed with time to spare, Zoumana Camara has seen his squad muster just 16 points from any of their 31 Ligue 1 appearances. Sat rock-bottom of the table and rightfully coming under a huge amount of scrutiny, the Occitanie-based outfit are certainly limping their way over the finishing line. Including a woeful 5-1 drumming against Marseille on April 19th, Montepllier have remarkably mustered just a single point from any of their previous 12 consecutive top-flight showdowns – a rut that stems all the way back to January 26th. Likewise, falling to a 2-0 loss when they travelled to the Stade Francis-Le Ble last season, Camara’s side find themselves pencilled in as a landslide underdog here.

19:45 Lille vs Marseille

While Lille might have got April underway with a 2-1 loss against domestic rivals Lyon, the Mastiffs have come roaring back in a sensational fashion. Skyrocketing their way into the Champions League spots, Bruno Genesio’s side are sat firmly in the driving seat to snatch a bronze medal finish among France’s elite. However, knowing that they can leapfrog Marseille this weekend, the former Rennes boss has seen his squad win all of their previous three Serie A appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2. It should also be noted, Lille have registered 12 points from just their last five top-flight showdowns. Likewise, last seen at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy storming their way to a 3-1 win against Auxerre, Genesio’s side have continued to shine with their performances on home soil. In fact, the Mastiffs have won each of their previous four consecutive domestic showdowns in front of their own supporters.

Securing what was a routine 4-1 victory against Brest last time out, Marseille will be looking to all but mathematically clinch a Champions League ticket this weekend. However, although Roberto De Zerbi’s side might have won three of their previous four Ligue 1 appearances, the former Brighton boss has seen his side gain a major reputation for their glaring issues on the road. Heading into March’s international break with a 3-1 loss against PSG, Les Phoceens have remarkably lost all of their previous four consecutive showdowns away from the Stade Velodrome by an aggregate score of 12-2. Shipping a trio of goals in all of those three straight away day defeats, Marseille should also be concerned by a worrying record against Lille. Watching their Coupe de France adventure come to an end back on January 14th following penalties defeat on home soil, De Zerbi’s men have failed to win any of their last five meetings across all competitions.
