Tragic Collision Claims 3 Lives — Shocking Details Emerge Involving College Football Star
Sometimes, life’s cruel twists remind us that even the brightest stars on the gridiron aren’t immune to tragedy off it. Over the weekend in Largo, Florida, a promising 20-year-old Miami Hurricanes linebacker, Adarius Hayes, found himself at the center of a devastating two-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of three people—including two young children. No one expects the unstoppable force of athletic talent to collide with the fragility of life so harshly. But here we are, left grappling with the question: how does a top recruit, who chose The U over heavyweights like Alabama and Notre Dame, process such a haunting moment? As police rule out alcohol and drugs, the somber weight of this accident lingers—underscoring that sometimes, not even the fastest or strongest can outrun fate. It’s a gut punch to the sports world, a reminder that human stories underlie every highlight reel and scoreboard light. From the report:
Behind the wheel of a Dodge Durango, Hayes allegedly struck a Kia with four occupants that was making a left turn in front of his truck.
Two kids, 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia, 78-year-old Gail Price, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Sunday, according to CBS News.
It was initially reported that two people died, though the number increased to three on Sunday night.
Hayes was a top recruit coming out of high school, picking Miami over several other major programs. He committed to The U over Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Michigan and Notre Dame, among other schools.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family members of the victims on Sunday evening.
May they all rest in peace.
