Clay Matthews Stuns Fans by Backing Unexpected Team to Clinch Division Title

Clay Matthews Stuns Fans by Backing Unexpected Team to Clinch Division Title

Here’s a hot take that’s sure to get some Green Bay fans grinding their teeth: Clay Matthews, Mr. linebacker himself, isn’t backing his old stomping grounds to top the NFC North this season. Nope — he’s throwing his chips in with the Detroit Lions. Now, whether that’s a stab at his former team or just cold, hard analysis, it’s got me thinking: can the Lions really pull off a three-peat in a division that’s anything but forgiving? Coming off that stellar 15-2 run, Detroit’s certainly got the momentum, but with one of the NFL’s toughest schedules ahead… well, it’s not exactly a cakewalk. Meanwhile, the Packers — ever resilient — aren’t likely to roll over quietly. So, what’s your guess? Is Matthews onto something, or is he just stirring the pot for fun? Either way, the NFC North just got a whole lot more interesting.
