Unlock the Secret Twist in the Article That Everyone’s Talking About!
You ever get that feeling when a team makes a move so seismic, it shakes the very foundation of the division? Well, the Houston Texans just pulled one of those — snagging Nick Chubb on what’s rumored to be a one-year deal. Sure, they’ve lost big names like Laremy Tunsil and Stefon Diggs this offseason, but landing Chubb might just be the shake-up C.J. Stroud’s squad needed to level up. Now, I’m curious — can Chubb bounce back from his rough patch last season and team up with Joe Mixon to form one of the league’s fiercest backfield combos? Pat McAfee seems pretty hyped about it, calling it a “huge signing,” and honestly, I’m right there wondering if this gamble will catapult the Texans beyond just playoff appearances to something truly spectacular. Buckle up, folks — this could get interesting.

The Houston Texans won the AFC South and won a playoff game in each of C.J. Stroud’s first two years as the starting quarterback, but they are looking to push forward and reach the next level.
However, some big names have left the team this offseason, including Laremy Tunsil and Stefon Diggs, so there are certainly question marks about the roster makeup, though Pat McAfee said on Monday that a recent acquisition was a “huge signing” for the franchise.
All reports indicate that star running back Nick Chubb will be signing a one-year deal with the Texans any day now, a move that McAfee proclaimed to be a big fan of during Monday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show.

Chubb had the worst year of his career this past season and averaged just 3.3 yards per carry behind a subpar offensive line, but if he can get back to the guy he was before this most recent knee injury, he and Joe Mixon can combine to be one of the league’s most dangerous RB duos.
Many Browns fans wanted Chubb to be re-signed, but it became clear his fate was sealed after they drafted Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the ’25 draft.
Dameon Pierce was originally slated to be Mixon’s backup, but Chubb has more experience as a workhorse back should anything happen to Mixon.
For a 1-year deal, this partnership makes a lot of sense for both parties, and it will be interesting to see how much Chubb has left in the tank.
