Manchester United’s Next Boss: Why Howe’s Candidacy Could Be the Biggest Surprise Yet
Michael Carrick’s days at the helm look perilously numbered. After Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-1 thrashing at Como in the Champions League—a result that sent shockwaves through the Red Devils’ faithful—it wasn’t just the scoreline turning heads but the clear rift between manager and captain that unfolded afterwards. Bruno Fernandes didn’t mince words, openly challenging Carrick’s tactics and exposing a schism in the dressing room that can’t be ignored. It’s one thing to lose a match, quite another when the team’s own leaders are at odds, questioning the very blueprint of the game plan. With tensions simmering and Sunday’s clash against Bournemouth looming large, the spotlight now swings on whether Carrick will still be in charge—and how the home crowd will react to the fiery Portuguese midfielder. This isn’t your usual post-match drama; it’s a story unfolding at Old Trafford that could reshape the club’s destiny.
