Why Are Early Betting Odds Grim for Aaron Rodgers’ Next Move?

Why Are Early Betting Odds Grim for Aaron Rodgers' Next Move?

So here’s the kicker: Aaron Rodgers, the guy who once reigned supreme in Green Bay, now finds himself starring in a Steelers uniform…and Vegas isn’t buying it. Only six games favored out of 17? That’s barely a vote of confidence. I can’t help but wonder—has Rodgers still got that magic touch, or are the early betting lines a brutal truth check for a man many thought was ready to ride off into the sunset? Steelers fans are left scratching their heads, caught between hope and skepticism. Mike Tomlin’s track record says no team under him flops below .500, but if Rodgers can’t lift this squad, will his legacy fizzle out just when the lights should be shining brightest? This season might just be the ultimate litmus test for the four-time MVP’s encore—or the beginning of a swan song nobody really saw coming.

NFL fans don’t really know what to think about the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the 2025 season.

Some are convinced that Aaron Rodgers is going to be a major upgrade at quarterback compared to what they’ve been working with over the past few years, while others think he’s washed up and doesn’t have much left in the tank.

Regardless of what experts and fans are saying, the betting market seems to have something in mind, and the early game lines for this season are not encouraging for Rodgers and his new team.

“The Steelers are favored in only six of their 17 games this upcoming season. … Vegas is giving Rodgers ZERO respect,” Dov Kleiman wrote on X.

These lines are certain to change as the season gets closer and sportsbooks get a clearer picture of what Rodgers looks like for Pittsburgh.

Mike Tomlin’s teams haven’t finished under .500 during his long tenure as head coach, but the current concern revolves around Rodgers’ ability to elevate his teammates.

If he can, he’ll be a hero in the Steel City, seemingly ending his career on a high note.

If it’s another frustrating season, however, Rodgers’ career would end sourly, especially considering the hype surrounding him when he left the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets.

The four-time NFL MVP might have his work cut out for him, but Rodgers decided he didn’t want to leave the game just yet.
