Auburn Baseball's 2026 Class Shakes Up Rankings—Which Rising Stars Are Turning Heads?

It’s no secret Auburn baseball’s been building something special, but the latest buzz has me genuinely fired up – Coach Butch Thompson and his crew just locked down a top-10 recruiting class for 2026, and that’s no small feat. After the early signing frenzy wrapped up, Perfect Game dropped their updated rankings, and there’s our Auburn Tigers, perched comfortably at No. 7 in the nation. That places them among an elite group of SEC powerhouses, including LSU, Vanderbilt, and Texas, all stacking their rosters with top-tier talent. What really strikes me is Auburn’s knack for giving fresh-faced players prime time minutes—last season’s true freshmen were vital in pushing Auburn all the way to their inaugural NCAA Super Regional appearance. Keep an eye on Coleman Borthwick, the Freeport, Florida phenom who’s making waves as both a third baseman and a pitcher—this kid’s got raw power and a lot of promise. Auburn’s 2026 crew is being hailed as a “toolsy, athletic bunch,” and honestly, it feels like we’re on the cusp of something big, again. Curious for the deep dive? LEARN MORE

Auburn baseball is well on its way to another deep postseason run as Butch Thompson and his staff have signed a top-10 recruiting class for the 2026 cycle.

Auburn Tigers occupy the No. 7 slot. Auburn is one of eight SEC teams to sign a top-10 class for 2026. LSU earned the top spot with 24 high school commits, including 11 in the top-100. Vanderbilt (No. 2), Texas (No. 3), Tennessee (No. 4), Florida (No. 6), Auburn (No. 7), Mississippi State (No. 9), and Ole Miss (No. 10) rank among the top 10 in the nation.

Perfect Game credits Auburn’s stellar recruiting efforts to its tendency to play younger players. Last season, true freshmen such as Bub Terrell, Chase Fralick, Chris Rembert, Andreas Alvarez, and Christian Chatterton played major roles in the Tigers’ success, a season that ended with Auburn hosting its first-ever NCAA Super Regional.

According to Perfect Game, Coleman Borthwick is Auburn’s top prospect. The Freeport, Florida native is as dangerous at third base as he is on the mound.

Coleman Borthwick is the headliner of this group, and is a legitimate 2-way prospect at the collegiate level with big raw juice at a corner position and a legitimate mix on the bump. He sits in the 92-95 band on his fastball with the feel to spin the breaking balls. He’s ultra physical at 6-6/255, and provides tremendous value and projection for Auburn if he makes it to campus.

Borthwick is one of seven players in Auburn’s 2026 haul who rank inside Perfect Game’s top-200. Perfect Game calls Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class a “toolsy, athletic bunch.”
