Golesh will try to turn around an Auburn program that has largely been dominated by the Crimson Tide over the past 15-plus years. Since 2008, Alabama has a 14-4 record against Auburn, which includes a six-game active win streak.
In early November, the Tigers fired head coach Hugh Freeze after a 10-3 home loss to a previously two-win Kentucky. Freeze went 15-19 in his three years on the Plains, never recording a winning season and never beating Alabama in that time.
