Breaking: Shocking Twist in President Trump’s College Sports Commission Decision Revealed
Dellenger reported earlier this month that Trump spoke with Saban during a visit to Tuscaloosa. Saban said Trump is “very interested” in college sports. While he doesn’t see the need for a commission, the 73-year-old would be “more than happy” to consult in another capacity.
Weeks ago, Dellenger said Congress was as “close as they’ve ever been” to introducing a college sports bill. Amid a ground-breaking House settlement that would allow schools to directly pay athletes, the legislation could classify athletes as students rather than employees and enable the NCAA and power conferences to enforce eligibility and transfer rules.
