The SEC dominated the earlier part of the decade between LSU, Alabama and Georgia. But since the B1G’s expansion, it appears it has quickly made up whatever ground it might’ve lost since the Buckeyes’ first CFP championship in 2014.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, LSU head coach Brian Kelly talked about a potential Big Ten-SEC series in the regular season. And he admitted that the B1G has the leg up right now and the south would like to get it back.
“Look, the Big Ten right now holds it on the SEC. They’ve won the last two national championships. OK, that’s the reality of it,” Kelly said. “We want to get challenged in that regard, and we’d like to be able to get that done.”
