Cam Newton Drops Surprising MVP Bombshell—Which NFL Running Back Has Him Convinced?

You ever notice how the NFL MVP conversation feels like a never-ending quarterback fan club meeting? It’s almost like the 52 other players on the roster don’t exist—especially when a former league MVP like Cam Newton steps up and asks, “Why isn’t Jonathan Taylor getting his due?” Now, that’s a spicy question worth unpacking. Taylor’s been torching defenses and racking up touchdowns like he’s playing Madden on the easiest difficulty, yet the MVP spotlight stubbornly remains a quarterback exclusive club. Is it time we rethink who truly drives a team’s success? Let’s dive into why Cam Newton believes this Colts running back deserves more than just a whisper in the MVP chatter.

In most sports, the MVP award goes to the best player on the best team, but the NFL is not like most sports.

There are 53 players on a roster, yet it feels like the media voters only consider the quarterback.

That’s why even a former MVP and quarterback like Cam Newton is putting the world on notice about Jonathan Taylor.

The Carolina Panthers legend is urging people to give the Indianapolis Colts running back serious consideration.

“Why isn’t Jonathan Taylor being mentioned as an MVP candidate?” Newton said.

Truth be told, Taylor shouldn’t just get a couple of votes. He should be the leading candidate.

After eight games, he’s on pace to score 29 total touchdowns.

He’s putting up multiple touchdowns weekly, as if he were playing Madden on the easiest setting.

The Colts have the best record in the NFL, thanks to their top-ranked offense.

So, as much as quarterback Daniel Jones should get some consideration for MVP, there’s no way to deny that Taylor has been even more important this season.

Non-quarterbacks usually have to settle for Offensive or Defensive Player of the Year when, at times, they’ve had a bigger impact.

Taylor has re-established himself as the best running back in the league.

But after 12 straight years of a quarterback winning MVP, it’s hard to believe voters will do the right thing.

Hopefully, Taylor will have a chance at the award he arguably deserves.
