Cedric Tillman’s Unbelievable Grab Turns Joe Flacco’s Nightmare Into a Stunning Victory Against Ravens

Sometimes, the gridiron gods just throw you a bone when you least expect it — and Joe Flacco caught one of those rare breaks this past Sunday. Picture this: a Browns game slipping away against the Ravens, a seemingly routine interception in the bag for Baltimore’s Marlon Humphrey, only for fate to throw a wild curveball. Humphrey’s hands slipped, and suddenly Cedric Tillman was hauling in a touchdown catch that defied all logic — a moment so bizarre, it practically screamed, “Hey, let’s keep this Browns fight alive a little longer!” Sure, it didn’t flip the final score, but man, that haphazard touchdown was pure magic for Cleveland’s beleaguered offense. You just can’t script moments like these — they happen in the blink of an eye, reminding us why football keeps us on the edge of our seats. LEARN MORE

Joe Flacco got incredibly lucky on Sunday afternoon.

The Cleveland Browns veteran threw what looked like a sure interception to Marlon Humphrey late in the third quarter of their 41-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. The ball was briefly in Humphrey’s hands, too.

Yet somehow, Humphrey lost control of it and the ball went flying up behind him right into the outstretched arms of Cedric Tillman in the end zone. That led to an absolutely absurd touchdown that kept the Browns in the game.

Hey, whatever works.

That catch was just Tillman’s second of the game. It marked the former Tennessee standout’s second touchdown of the season, too. He had a 5-yard grab in last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite Tillman’s heroics, though, the Ravens still rolled to the dominant win. Lamar Jackson threw four touchdowns while going 19-of-29, completely making up for just a 24-yard day from Derrick Henry on the ground. That more than avenged their wild loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, too.

Flacco finished going 25-of-45 for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Quinshon Judkins had 61 yards on 10 carries, and Jerry Judy led the team in the air with 51 yards on four catches. The Browns now sit at 0-2 on the season.

While it didn’t lead to the win, Flacco and Tillman still connected on what may very well be the luckiest score of the week, if not the early stretch of the season.
