The Los Angeles Chargers delivered a commanding 37-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, with Justin Herbert throwing three touchdown passes in one of his finest performances this season.

After a disappointing loss to the Colts just days earlier, Los Angeles responded with authority and improved to 5-3.

The Chargers controlled the game from the opening drive, showcasing an offense that clicked on all cylinders while their defense stifled Minnesota’s attack throughout the night.

Herbert’s stellar showing reinforced his status among the league’s elite quarterbacks, and head coach Jim Harbaugh made his admiration clear afterward.

“I go back and watch these tapes and it’s so rare that he doesn’t see it or read it or know the exact coverage and where to go with the ball,” Harbaugh said. “When it’s all covered, he did a great job tonight running and picking up first downs with his athleticism. Just another stellar performance by Justin Herbert.”

The dominance showed in the numbers, with Los Angeles outgaining Minnesota 419 yards to 164 in a contest that never felt competitive.

Herbert completed passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns while adding 62 rushing yards, showcasing the dual-threat ability that has defined his sixth NFL season.

Those three scoring throws pushed his season total to 17, placing him among the top five quarterbacks entering Week 9.

The Chargers offense broke through a season-long barrier, surpassing 30 points for the first time this year while recording zero punts.

Herbert’s evolution as a runner has become a legitimate weapon, as he now averages a career-high 26.6 rushing yards per game.

That marks an 8.6-yard improvement over his previous best, with his 4.68-second 40-yard dash speed creating problems for defenses expecting a traditional pocket passer.
