Chris Simms Sounds Alarm on Chiefs’ Offense—What’s Really Going Wrong?
Not so long ago, the Kansas City Chiefs were kings of the NFL castle—unstoppable, daring, and downright electrifying. Fast forward a bit, and I have to ask: what on earth is going on with this offense? Watching Patrick Mahomes scramble more than throw, while the rest of the team seems lost in some kind of fog, leaves you scratching your head. Is this just an early-season slump, or are we witnessing the unraveling of a once-mighty empire? With critics like Chris Simms raising red flags about scheme woes and player performances, it’s clear the Chiefs’ golden era might be facing its biggest test yet. So, buckle up—because this isn’t just a story about a struggling offense; it’s a deep dive into how a powerhouse copes when the pressure mounts and the magic starts to fade.

Not so long ago, the Kansas City Chiefs were the team to beat in the National Football League.
Fast forward to today, and they look like a shell of themselves.
Their offense has struggled for two weeks, and Patrick Mahomes just has to do too much for them to stay afloat.
That’s why Chris Simms has some legitimate concerns about this team.
Following their Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the renowned pundit shared his thoughts on Matt Nagy’s offense:
“It’s been tough. It doesn’t look great. Mahomes is the second leading rusher for the second week in a row. Yes, he’s making mistakes, too, but there’s not a lot of help out here right now. There’s nowhere to go. They can’t run the football. They haven’t been able to. That’s concerning. Protection mistakes and then no separation from anybody down the field. There’s nobody here game-planning or scared of Kansas City right now, and Mahomes has too much on his plate,” Simms said.

The Chiefs’ offense has regressed since Nagy replaced Eric Bieniemy.
Of course, some people might also point out that trading Tyreek Hill was a mistake, but Mahomes had his best season without the speedy pass-catcher.
Something will have to change.
Isiah Pacheco is a shell of the hungry tackle-breaker he once was, and he may have peaked way too early.
Travis Kelce is making mistakes, taking out his own teammates after running the wrong route, and then dropping passes he was supposed to catch.
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown can’t create any sort of separation, and with Xavier Worthy out and Rashee Rice suspended, it all falls on Mahomes.
It’s still early in the season, and with this defense and Andy Reid leading the way, people should know better than to count this team out.
But after watching them struggle so mightily in the first two games of the season, it’s also easy to understand why some people might think that this is the beginning of the end for them.
