The Houston Texans’ annual local prospect day brought a flurry of hopeful draft candidates to Strake Jesuit Football on Thursday, giving scouts a closer look at hometown heroes who might soon don the famous deep steel blue and battle red uniforms.

Among those showcasing their abilities was Northwestern tight end Thomas Gordon, whose Houston roots run deep.

His participation caught the attention of local media, with insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston breaking the news to eager fans.

“#Texans working out Northwestern tight end Thomas Gordon @STRAKEJESUITFB today at local prospect day, per league source, previously #Bears local day. Gordon (6-5, 255) caught career-high 27 catches for 252 yards, one touchdown last season. All-district selection 104 career catches, 1,550 yards and 20 touchdowns in high school playing for Klay Kubiak,” Wilson reported.
