Could This Unknown RB Prospect Be the 2026 NFL Draft’s Biggest Surprise?
The 2025 NFL Draft may have wrapped up at the iconic Lambeau Field, but isn’t it fascinating how the draft chatter never really dies down? As September’s kickoff looms in the distance, diehard fans and draft gurus alike are already spinning their wheels, fixating on the next big thing. So, who’s the running back to watch for the 2026 class? Yeah, Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame is stealing the spotlight—hailed by experts like Mel Kiper and Matt Miller as the top RB prospect, if he decides to make the leap. It’s funny how the running back position, once thought to be on the decline, keeps reminding us that a true powerhouse can tilt the scales from bust to Super Bowl glory. Makes you wonder… could Love be the X-factor that reshapes next year’s draft narrative?

The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, and the season doesn’t start until September.
Yet, it’s never too early to start planning for the future, which is exactly what many of the top draft experts are doing.
There’s already some chatter about who the top picks might be in the 2026 NFL Draft and which players will impress at each position.
Some experts have already identified its top running back prospect, if he declares after his 2025 season.
“Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love is the No. 1 rated RB in the 2026 NFL Draft class, according to Mel Kiper and Matt Miller,” Dov Kleiman wrote on X.

The 2025 draft had a strong running back class, especially with Ashton Jeanty at the top and how deep it was afterward.
With Love as the top option next year, it could be headlined by another great player.
Jeanty took college football by storm last year, and while Love might not possess the same upside or ceiling, he is likely to be a highlight-reel player this season.
The running back position has been devalued in the NFL over the past few years, but as fans saw with Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles, having a strong one can be the difference between a playoff team and one that wins the Super Bowl.
