Darren Sproles was one of the most dynamic dual-threat running backs in the NFL during his 14 seasons.

Sproles recently said he may return to football in a different capacity, as he discussed the possibility of joining the Denver Broncos’ staff under Sean Payton, his former Saints coach.

“Sean has called me about it, and I think I’m gonna take him up on it. Because I feel like my next calling is to coach. I feel like, with me starting high school coaching, a little bit, I’m loving it. And I feel like that’s my next calling,” Sproles said.

Sproles explained that coaching has been drawing him back to the game since he began working with high school players.

He emphasized that the daily preparation and structure appeal to him more than he expected.

Sproles mentioned wanting to work with Deuce Vaughn, a fellow running back who is on the Broncos’ practice squad and has drawn comparisons to Sproles due to his similar size and skill set.
