Deion Sanders Hints at Surprising Twist in Quarterback Battle Featuring Isaac Wilson

Former four-star quarterback Isaac Wilson is hoping for a new start with Colorado. Wilson transferred from Utah after it was clear he would not be able to win the Utes’ starting job in 2026.

With the Buffs needing another quarterback when Ryan Staub transferred to Tennessee, Wilson fit that mold.

He has starting experience in a Power Four conference from his time at Utah: Wilson was thrust into the starting role as a true freshman in 2024 after an injury to Cam Rising.

Wilson appeared in 10 games, starting seven; throwing for 1,510 yards and 10 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. This new start, even as a potential backup to Julian Lewis, could be a big payoff for both Colorado and Wilson.
