Though he settled down briefly, the wheels came off soon after—giving up a trio of damaging hits including multiple homers that turned a promising outing sour. End result? Nine hits, two walks, six earned runs, and not a single strikeout over four innings wasn’t exactly the highlight reel. But hey, Zac left the mound intact and clocked 66 pitches, which I reckon sets him up nicely to push into the 80s pitch count come next week’s opener.
