Eagles Poised for Blockbuster Trade at Deadline: Insider Drops Bombshell Hint

So here we are, scratching our heads over the Philadelphia Eagles’ unexpected Week 8 surge against the New York Giants — minus A.J. Brown, no less. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Eagles aren’t suddenly better off without their star wideout, but the swirling rumors and off-field drama make you wonder: could cutting Brown loose actually be the jolt this team needs? Insider Mike Florio tosses around the spicy idea of the Eagles pulling off a trade, maybe sending Brown to reunite with his old coach Mike Vrabel in New England. It raises a fascinating question — when does a star become a distraction so potent that the team might gain more by saying goodbye? Let’s dive in and unravel why this potential shakeup might just be one of the boldest moves at this season’s trade deadline.

The Philadelphia Eagles put up a strong offensive performance without injured A.J. Brown in Week 8 against the New York Giants.

Of course, that’s not to say they’re a better team when the wide receiver is sidelined.

But, given all the talk around him, the distractions, and his attitude, perhaps trading him wouldn’t be the craziest idea.

Insider Mike Florio recently weighed in on the possibility as the NFL deadline closes in.

“Could the Eagles engage in a little addition by subtraction by moving on from A.J. Brown, starting with the New England Patriots coached by the man who was his head coach in Tennessee [Mike Vrabel],” Florio said.

The Pro Football Talk host predicted that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman could field calls for Brown before the Nov. 4 cutoff.

Specifically, Florio said the New England Patriots might be interested in reuniting Brown with Vrabel, who was his head coach at the start of his career.

The Patriots are reportedly looking to add firepower at wide receiver.

They already have a proven veteran in Stefon Diggs, and with the way quarterback Drake Maye is playing, adding another established player to the mix would make them even more threatening.

Granted, accommodating Brown’s salary could be a bit of a challenge.

Also, adding another wideout with a diva reputation to a locker room that already includes Diggs might be a potent combination.

The Eagles’ offense hasn’t been as good as usual this season, and quarterback Jalen Hurts has been either unwilling or unable to get Brown as involved as he should be.

There are rumblings about their fractured relationship, and while Brown is clearly one of the best players in the league, Super Bowl teams can’t afford to have too many distractions.
