EAST PEORIA — Quinton Kitt has made his college basketball decision.
The East Peoria all-state junior announced on social media Thursday his verbal commitment to Illinois, picking the Fighting Illini over scholarship offers from Bradley, Michigan, Iowa, Butler, DePaul, Toledo, Northwestern and Illinois State. He had also made unofficial visits to Ohio State, Notre Dame and Indiana.

During his sophomore season, the 6-foot-6 guard/forward averaged 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists for East Peoria, which recorded the program’s first 20-win season since 1997. The Raiders are scheduled to open their 2025-26 campaign against Rockford Jefferson on Friday at the Pekin Thanksgiving Tournament.

He was named Journal Star Class 3A all-area, all-Mid-Illini Conference first team and Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state third team.
Kitt becomes the first class of 2027 recruit for Illinois, which is ranked No. 13 in the country and faces fifth-ranked UConn at Madison Square Garden on Friday. He’s ranked as the No. 2 prospect in Illinois, while being considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com.
