ESPN’s Bold Move: What’s Really Behind the Plan to Replace Lee Corso?

Some have begun to wonder how – or if – ESPN will “replace” Corso on the show.

Will someone else be doing his iconic headgear pick, perhaps Pat McAfee or Nick Saban?

Saban doesn’t want to.

“I hope not … But that’s probably not my decision,” Saban said during an interview “The Rick Burgess Show.”

It sounds like ESPN has already made a decision in that department, though. Rece Davis, the host of the show, made it clear that he won’t be letting anyone do Corso’s headgear pick moving forward.

“I think I’m going to have to tackle anybody that tries to do a headgear pick, other than Lee Corso,” Davis told CNN’s Kaitlin Collins. “That, to me, is his signature moment and it should stay with him, in my judgment.
