ESPN’s Top 25 College Football Rankings Spark Outrage—Which Teams Got Snubbed?
Earlier this year, ESPN had Ohio State ranked as the No. 1 team in the country. That made sense considering the Buckeyes just won a national championship. It also doesn’t hurt that Caleb Downs and Jeremiah Smith are still on Ryan Day’s roster.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, however, has removed Ohio State from the No. 1 spot. In fact, he doesn’t even have the defending champions in his top four. As of right now, he believes Penn State is the best team in the league.
“There’s a new No. 1 with Penn State jumping from No. 3 after defending College Football Playoff national champion Ohio State lost a boatload of players to the NFL draft, along with both of its coordinators,” Schlabach wrote.
